Anthony Mancini, Jr., 82, passed away peacefully at home on August 16, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Mancini. They were married for 55 years.

          Born in Providence, he was the eldest son of the late Anthony Sr. and Angelina Mancini. Known to most as Tony, he graduated from North Providence High School in 1952. Tony enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country abroad from 1953-1957.

Upon his return to the United States, Tony enrolled at Rhode Island College and graduated in 1962. He began his teaching career at Esek Hopkins Middle School, and was employed by the Providence School Department for 33 years.

          Tony was an active member of the Providence Teachers Union, serving as President from 1968-1973. Upon his retirement from teaching, he served as President of the Providence Teachers Union Retirees Chapter until his passing.

          Tony is survived by his brother, Edward Mancini Sr., and his daughters, Alicia and her husband Robert, and Andrea and her husband Derek.

          Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Rhode Island.
