Rao, Lucia M. (Aceto) 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 23, 2017 with her family by her side.  She was the wife of the late George Rao.  Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Giovannina (Riccio) Aceto.

Lucia is survived by her loving daughters, Lana Amodei and her husband Gerald, and Mary Ann Mayer.  She was the cherished grandmother of Jerilyn Peppes, James Amodei, and Sylvie Mayer, great grandmother of Meredith and Martha Peppes. She was the sister of Elma Aceto, and the late Ercole “Bill” Aceto, and Caroline Votolato.

Her funeral was held on Monday November 27, 2017 at 9 AM from the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St. Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Jude Church, 301 Front St. Lincoln.  Calling hours will be held Monday morning 9 to 10:15 AM.  Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
