Anne T. Gauthier (Guglietti)

Anne Theresa (Guglietti) Gauthier, O.C.D.S. 83, of North Providence, a daughter of the church, was called by God on Thursday June 1st to be reunited with her predeceased family members. 

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Lena (Ricci) Guglietti.

She is survived by her son, Eric Paul Gauthier, Sr. and his wife Lynn (Antonucci) Gauthier of North Providence; three grandsons, Eric Paul Gauthier, Jr., Andrew Antonucci, and Brandon Lopez; and a great granddaughter, Leana Jade Antonucci; as well as many beloved and cherished nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and friends.  She was the mother of the late Daniel Gauthier; sister of the late Larry Guglietti, Vincent Guglietti, Carmela Guglietti, Rosemarie (Guglietti) Refino; and sister-in-law of the late Frances (Tramontano) Guglietti, Olivia (Mauricio) Guglietti, and Joseph (Pungy) Refino.

Anne was a teacher and counselor at Bishop Keough High School for 23 years.  She also was a Coordinator of Religious Education at several parishes throughout the Diocese of Providence for many years.  She was a member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites, Barrington Chapter since 1984.

On October 28, 2007, Anne was presented the Companions on the Journey Award by Bishop Thomas Tobin.  It is the highest National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry adult award given for excellence in youth ministry, commitment to young people, outstanding leadership, and commitment to on-going education and formation.

Ann was a prolific writer and authored 2 children’s books, 2 books of poetry, and composed 2 liturgical music pieces.  Her love for her family, friends, and students knew no bound, and her love for God and His Holy Word consumed her life.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday, June 7th at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, from 9:00 am -10:15 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence.  Burial will be private.
