Dennis DeAngelis (12/12/1947-01/29/2023) was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother; revered cousin, uncle, and friend to many, passed away Sunday January 29th
An avid music lover, he passed away with his wife and daughters by his side to the soundtrack of his life.
Dennis leaves behind his cherished wife Linda DeAngelis; daughters Kristi Mangiocca and husband, Christopher; Kelly DeAngelis and husband, Vincenzo Gianfrancesco; and Kara Iafrate and husband, Michael; granddaughters Farrah, Katarina, Gigi, Layla, Victoria, & Liliana; mother, Anna DeAngelis (nee Chece); brothers Alan DeAngelis and wife, Valerie; David DeAngelis and wife, Lisa; and sister Karen O’Donnell, and husband Frank. He was predeceased by his father, Alfred DeAngelis.
Dennis led a fabled life; his many accomplishments include co-ownership of Bojangles, a successful Newport music club, sponsorship of the Newport Jazz, a semi professional football team, and countless groundbreaking defense projects as a brilliant, software engineer, but most importantly, his true life’s work, raising his daughters and granddaughters. His legacy will live on through them and the many memories he leaves behind.
He endured his suffering with superhuman grace and optimism. He will be so deeply missed.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 4th at 10:00 am at the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St. Providence. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Friday, February 3rd from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
