Our Dear Lisa passed away on Sunday May 28,2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. Through her battle she showed her courage in facing life challenges with a strong faith. Despite her constant pain Lisa stayed positive and strong right to the end. She is surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Lisa was a Preschool teacher for the Head Start Program and Heritage Park Early Learning Center. She received her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from RIC. Lisa’s pride was in her love for her students and schooling. She was happy and honored to share her passion for learning with hundreds of children over the years.
Lisa found the simplest pleasures in abstract painting, sitting and swimming at the ocean or enjoying a nice outdoor fire. She is survived by her 4 children: Phillip Goddard (Koda), Kaylynn Goddard (Norman), Raeleece Waddy and Orie Morris Jr. She enjoyed the love of her 3 beautiful grandchildren; Yvonne, Althea and Norman Jr., her father James A Goddard Snr., sisters: Sandra Schenck (John), Gina Washington-Dorsey (Tarah), Nicola Moore Everett (Leon), Lesley Goddard, Arva Goddard, Kizzy Davis, Tomika Boyd- brothers: James A Goddard II (Melissa), Antonio Schenck, Wayne Lowery, James Schenck (Michelle) and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and host of family and friends.
Lisa is predeceased by her mother, Mary Schenck and sister, Yvonne Schenck.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 6 at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, with a visitation from 9:30 am - 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will be private.
