Ahmed "Abraham" Babatunde

Ahmed ‘Abraham” Babatunde, 65, of Providence, passed away Thursday March 16th.  He was the beloved husband of Florence (Adesina) Babtunde for 42 years.

Born in Nigeria to loving parents and two sisters. He grew up with his mother’s elder sister and husband Mummy and Daddy Olugbile of blessed memory. They were able to make sure Ahmed received a great education which he studied accounting in University. He was an Accountant in Nigeria before relocating to America to further his education in the early 1980’s. In America he went to college and became an Electrical Engineer. He was one of the first Nigerians to register a company in Rhode Island. He helped so many people get a legit  job that was seeking employment which in turn kept them out of trouble. He truly found great joy in helping people. He was a member and Elder of the CAC Mirror of God Church in Providence Rhode Island. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children; Nikki Babatunde, Kazeem Babatunde, Marion Babatunde, and Michael Babatunde, Two Family children Ope Tolulope, Niyi Sofoluwe and two grandchildren, Teana Connor and Michael “JR” Babatunde.

Visiting hours will be held at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, Monday March 27th from 9:00 am – 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
