Obituary

Albert Palombo, 93 of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at The Miriam Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Campanella) Palombo. They were happily married for 70 years.

Born in North Providence, he was the son of the late Americo and Angelina (DiStefano) Palombo.

Albert received an undergraduate bachelor’s degree from Providence College and a master’s degree in education from Rhode Island College. He was the Principal at Windmill Street School in Providence from 1975 – 1987. He was also the former Principal at John Howland School, Providence and Saint Paul School, Cranston. He served as the President of the Holy Name Society of Saint Anthony. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family, traveling, golf, sports and especially, the New York Yankees. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston and was a Navy Veteran serving during WWII.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Alan Palombo and his wife Donna, Robert Palombo and his wife Pamela, James Palombo and his wife Terry and his daughter, Judith Centracchio and her husband, David. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jessica, Samantha, the late James, Christopher, Gianni, Tessa, Joely, and Grace, as well as his dear great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan and a sister, Florence Silva.  He was the brother of the late Americo, Margaret, Angelo, Nicola, Edith, John, and Mary. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 31st at 10am at Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road, Johnston. Burial will be private.
