Obituary

Alicia Biros, 42, of Cranston, lost a long battle with mental illness at her childhood home on May 25. She was the beloved sister and best friend to Malissa Lima and her husband Michael of Smithfield. She was the daughter of the late Beverly Skovron. She was also the daughter of Michael Biros of Florida.  Alicia was the cherished aunt to Tyler and Ryden Lima. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Filomena Skovron and her aunt Cynthia Skovron.

Alicia graduated from Johnston High School. For twenty years, she was a dedicated math teacher at North Kingstown High School who loved seeing her students succeed. Alicia took this school year off to selflessly care for her mom as she bravely battled cancer. Alicia could often be found with the Fab 5 (sometimes 6) – her sister, mom, her beloved nephews, and brother-in-law. She loved her nephews dearly, cheering them on at all of their games, tutoring them or spending time with and loving them in any way that she could.  She loved music and attending concerts, enjoyed the sunshine, the beach, and vacationing, especially with her family in Florida.

Alicia also leaves behind several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.

We will celebrate her life with a Mass of Christian burial on Friday, June 3 at 10:30 AM in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation is Thursday 4-8 PM at A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alicia’s memory may be made to NAMIRhodeIsland.org. Arrangements by A. Tarro & Sons Funeral Home.
