Anne Detri

Anne Detri (Reo) 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Briarcliffe Manor, Johnston. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Detri.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (Antonelli) Reo.

Formerly of Pawtucket, she is survived by her loving children, Ralph Detri and his wife Laura and Susan Detri-Souve and her husband John. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Andreozzi and her husband Steven and Cameron Souve, a brother, Richard Reo and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late, Santina Corona, Assunta Iantuono, Dominic, Anthony and Alfred Reo.

          Anne took great pride and delight entertaining her family and friends with her mastery of Italian cooking.  Her eggplant was the world’s best and she ensured a guest never left her home hungry.

She felt great fulfillment in celebrating the successes of her children and grandchildren.

A lover of the arts, Anne was a consummate fan of music and movies.  She was an expert with songs and singers of the American Songbook.  She spoke of many fond memories singing those tunes semi-professionally in her youth.  Her knowledge of movies and actors was encyclopedic.  She was a master of all things Hollywood.  She was quite the fashionista throughout her life.

          Her family and friends will miss her contagious laugh and her love for the holidays.

          Anne’s family gives great thanks to the entire staff at Briarcliffe Manor for the excellent care and compassion they provided her.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday (MORNING) July 30th from 9-10:15am at the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins St., Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis TN  38101-9908.
