Antonio Gianfrancesco, 88 of Providence, passed away Sunday. He was the beloved husband of the late Antonetta (Montoro) Gianfrancesco.
Born in Italyy, he was a son of the late Raffaele and Irene (Cuculo) Gianfrancesco. He came to the United States in 1968. Before coming to America, he was in a band that allowed him to travel his native home.
Mr. Gianfrancesco was a founding member of the Fontegreca Social Club, in honor of the Madonna dei Cipressi Fontegreca, where he enjoyed playing Bocce and Hi-Lo Jack, and was also a member of the RI Bocce League. He enjoyed gardening and making his own wine. He treasured the time he spent with his family and grandchildren, and will be remembered for the tremendous job he did raising three children and providing for his family.
He is survived by a son, Ralph Gianfrancesco and his wife Anna; two daughters, Irene Rado and her husband Carlo, and Genoveffa Parisi and her husband John; six grandchildren, Corrado Rado and his wife Amanda,Vincenzo Gianfrancesco and his wife Kelly, Clarissa Rado, Giovanni Parisi, Dante Parisi, Stephen Young and his wife Laura; three great-grandchildren, Katarina, Cameron, and Michael; a brother Domenico Gianfrancesco and his wife Isabella; and a sister, Michelina DiGregregorio and her husband Mario He was the grandfather of the late Anthony Gianfrancesco, and brother of the late Michelangelo Gianfrancesco, Maria DiGregregorio, and Filomena Gianfrancesco.
A private service will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to National MPS Society, P.O. Box 14686, Durham, NC 27709.
