Obituary

Barbara A. (Corey) Cimini, 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at her home in Pawtucket. She was the devoted wife of the late Philip P. Cimini, Sr., who passed away on March 27, 2013.

Born on August 17, 1950 in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rose (Kando) Corey.

Barbara attended Central Falls High School where she graduated in 1968. She also attended St. Joseph’s Practical School of Nursing where she became an L.P.N. in 1972. She worked as a nurse in several doctor’s offices and the Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, RI retiring in 1988. Barbara also had her RI realtor’s license and her H & R Block certification in tax preparation.

She was a member of St. Basil the Great Church since 1977. Barbara was an avid reader and loved to shop. Barbara loved her family dearly and will be sadly missed.

Barbara is survived by her loving daughter Kerrie Medeiros and her husband Glenn of Pawtucket, RI; her four grandchildren: Glenn Medeiros Jr. and his wife Jessica of Frederick, Maryland; Ilaura (Medeiros) Boisvert and her husband Louis of North Providence, RI; Krystiana (Medeiros) Smith and her wife Susan of Woonsocket, RI; and Alexandra Medeiros of Pawtucket, RI and her boyfriend Jacob Scudieri; her seven great-grandsons: Brady, Jaxson, Paul, Lucas, Nehemiha, Noel and Nygel; her two sisters: Mary Carvalho and her late husband M. Roger Carvalho of Estero, Florida and Carol Darling and her husband Jack of Cumberland, RI; two nephews: Patrick Chadwick and his wife Traci of Buford, GA; Nathan Chadwick and his wife Kristen of Walpole, MA and one niece: Bethany (Carvalho) Arnold and her husband Eric of Cumberland RI and several cousins.

With firm observance to appropriate Covid-19 health safety measures, including social distancing and the use of face coverings (required), Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM at A.A. Mariani and Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence, RI.

Her funeral will be held Monday, September 28th at 9 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Basil the Great Church, 15 Skyview Drive, Lincoln, RI. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.
