Marano, Carolyn (Izzi) 82, of Lincoln, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at home. She was the beloved wife of Albert Marano. They were happily married for 63 years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Roger Sr. and Caroline (DiLello) Izzi.
Carolyn and her husband were co-owners of CAL-MAR Jewelry Inc. for 20 years. She worked for her son Dr. Albert Marano as secretary, starting in 1993 until retiring over a decade later. She was active in St. Ann’s School and Church as secretary where she coordinated dinners, social gatherings, and drives. She was also secretary for the executive committee at St. Raphael Academy, where three of her sons attended.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving sons, John Marano and his wife Lisa, Dr. Albert Marano and his wife Natalie, Stephen Marano and his wife Sandra, and Roger Marano and his wife Tricia. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Albert Jr., John Jr., Anthony, Melissa, Carolyn, Amanda, Stephen and Roger Jr; dear great-grandchildren, Marco, Giovanna, Isabella, Britlyn, Brielle, Adelaide and Luca, and devoted brothers Dr. Joseph Izzi and his wife Barbara, and Dr. Roger Izzi and his wife Nancy. She was aunt to Dr. Joseph Izzi Jr., Dr. Jason Izzi, Roger Izzi Jr., and Matthew Izzi.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, November 9th at 9am from the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Ann’s Church, 280 Hawkins St., Providence. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Monday 4-8pm. Relatives and friends attending will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing.
