Charlene Shepherd departed this life at age 66, Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston Massachusetts. She was born on July 28, 1950 to Clyde Shirley and Ethel Mae Colvin-Richardson. She was born in Lownes County MS and graduated from R.E. Hunt High School.

Charlene was a CNA and Medicine Technician for 28 years at Briarcliff Manor Nursing Home. She enjoyed her job and love to work with people.

Charlene was affectionate, caring, compassionate and a God fearing Christian. She enjoyed spending time with her family doing many things such as, Sunday dinners, family gatherings and love singing to all types of music and movies. Television series like Meet and Browns, Married to Medicine, and I can’t forget Young and Restless just to name a few. Charlene’s legacy is that she was a phenomenal mother, sister, friend, constant giver and great provider to everyone, and for that she is and will be truly missed.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents Clyde Shirley and Ethel Mae Colvin-Richardson. She leaves the following to cherish her loving memory, daughter, Daphne Lashea Colvin; two sons, Kevin Dwayne Shepherd, Gabriel Shepherd; one brother, Samuel Richardson, Jr.; one sister, Charlotte Colvin; five grandchildren, Kevin D. Shepherd, Jr., Justin Segalla, Zarya R. Shepherd, Kameron G. Shepherd, Kayman J. Shepherd; one nephew, Daveris Colvin; one niece, Rachelle M.A. Harbor; one great niece, Nialah Colvin; one aunt, Della Mae Johnson; god-daughter, Ashley Ray; and cousins; and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday, July 8th at 10:00 AM in the A. A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St, Providence. Burial will be in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Calling hours Saturday 8:00-10:00 AM.
