PROVIDENCE- Connie Mack Smith, Sr., 76, of Providence, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Elmhurst Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Providence.
He was born in North Carolina on June 23, 1943. He was the dedicated son of Wiley and Mittie (Jefferies) Smith.
Connie worked for many years as a construction worker for the City of Providence Highway Department.
He is survived by his loving sons: Connie Mack Smith, Jr. of North Providence, RI; Curtis Kaye of Millville, MA; Jimmy Mclain of Providence; and Anthony Oliver of Providence. He was the dear father to his daughters: Mary Dolores Smith of Providence; Cheryl Lynn Smith Crane of Lincoln; and Tamika Mclain of Providence.
He was the loving brother to his brothers, the late Edward Smith, Robert Smith, and Herman Smith of Providence; and his surviving brother, Matthew Smith of Providence.
Connie was the treasured brother to his sisters, the late Alma Marie Harris formerly of Providence and the late Betty (Lucy Mae) Dunn of Zebulon North Carolina; and his surviving sister Janet Dunston of Providence.
He is also survived by his 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 10-12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at A.A. Mariani and Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, RI. A funeral home service will immediately follow the visitation at 12 p.m., in the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held at North Burial Ground, Branch Avenue, Providence.
