Dorothy A Young

Young, Dorothy A. 88, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2018 with her loving family by her side.  She was the wife of the late Wallace A. Young Jr.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Teresa (Mancini) Santaniello.

She had taught at Bishop Keough School for 33 years, retiring in 2010.She was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order, Saint Clare of Assisi Fraternity.  She was a Communicant of St. Anthony Church, and served as a Eucharistic Minister at Fatima and Miriam Hospitals.. She was active in her community and church.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Wallace A. Young III, Jeffrey J. Young, Connie – Marie McClurg, and Allison D. Supple and her adoring 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  She is survived by sisters Ida Britto, Jean Aniello, and sister - in – law Anna Santaniello.  She was the sister of the late John and Albert Santaniello, Lena Marsella, Anna Marsella, Amelia Mattiello, Edith Barbeiri, and Sandella “Connie” Pendleton.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday October 16, 2018 at 9:45 A.M. from the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St. Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence.  Calling hours will be held Monday 5 to 8 P.M.  Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Anthony Church Memorial Fund, 5 Gibbs Street, North Providence, RI 02904.
