Edward R. Aniconi, 86, of Providence passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2019. He was the former husband of Virginia (Cabral) Aniconi. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James and Veneretta (Fracassa) Annicone.
Edward was a Navy veteran who served in the Korean War. He worked for his family’s market for many years and also was a steelworker before his retirement. He loved working with people, loved making deals, and loved giving useful advice to his children and grandchildren. Since his youth, he was an avid automobile enthusiast and a political enthusiast.
He is survived by his children, Derrek F. Aniconi, Edward J. Aniconi and wife Karen, Lisa J. Munsill and husband Carleton, Vera A. Lawrence and husband Mark whom Edward loved like a son, and Mark M. Aniconi. He is also survived by his sister, Vera (Annicone) Treglia and his cherished grandchildren, Oliver H. Munsill, Lily C. Munsill, Elaina G. Munsill, Maxwell J. Aniconi, Marissa J. Aniconi, Jesse E. Lawrence and Christian E. Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his brothers James E. Annicone, Anthony Annicone, and sisters Sabatina Vidrine and Frances Jensen. His funeral and burial were private.
