Emil Rodriguez

Emil Rodriguez, 17, of Providence, passed away Thursday, February 1 st.

Born in Providence, he was son of Evelyn Rodriguez and Manuel Arias.

Emil was currently a student at Tides School in West Warwick and wanted to extend his education by going to a trade school and pursue his career as an ironworker after he graduated. He also enjoyed playing baseball with his former step-father Luis Soto who was very known to the local baseball community. Emil had won 2 back to back Washington Park Little League Championships, an 11u Regional Championship, and also a Minor League Championship.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Emely  Rodriguez, and Gisselyz Adorno; a brother, Jamil Soto; a nephew, Kaisen Mann; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, Friday February 9th at 5:30 pm, during the visiting hours.   A prayer service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday at the funeral home followed by burial in North Burial Ground, Providence. Visiting hours are Friday 4:00 - 7:00 pm.
