Ferdinand Rodriguez-Vega, beloved husband, father, abuelo, and friend passed away peacefully on May 27th, 2022, grounded in his faith in Jesus Christ, and surrounded by the love of his family and friends, after a courageous battle with Lymphoma.  

Ferdinand is survived by his wife, Idalia Casanova, his daughter Sissy Rodriguez, his sons, Yasser Rodriguez and Jorge Flores, and daughter in-law, Gina Flores.  Ferdinand was the adoring abuelo to Ashley, Fabiola, Christopher, Saul, Stella, Kai, Mia, Myles, and Austin and to seven adorable great-grandchildren.  

Ferdinand was born in Cataño, Puerto Rico.  He cherished his Puerto Rican heritage and roots.  After leaving Puerto Rico, Ferdinand earned his Masters Degree in Education and eventually settled in Providence, RI where he worked as a special education, ESL and French teacher and taught both middle school and high school students.  Ferdinand had a passion for learning and sharing his knowledge.  
Visiting hours will be Tuesday, May 31st from 5-8pm.  A  funeral home service will be held at 7:30pm in the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence. Burial will be private.
