Francis A. Letteri was a lifelong resident of Providence. He was the son of the late Mario & Agnes (Fusco) Letteri and brother of Robert Letteri.
Mr. Letteri was a dual graduate of Rhode Island College studying Secondary Education Mathematics and later on Computer Science. He was employed as a Substitute mathematics teacher for the Warwick and Cranston School Departments. He also graduated from the former RI School of Electronics. He was then employed as a Final Systems Test Technician for Prime Computer in Framingham MA. In 1980, Mr. Letteri was hired as an Electronic Technician for the Providence Post Office. He was promoted to Data Processing Coordinator and Telecommunication Specialist in the IT Department of the US Postal Service Southeast New England District. Upon retiring from the Postal Service, Mr. Letteri worked part time as a Transporter for Hertz Rent A Car and as a Test Administrator for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).
Visiting hours will be Friday, March 11th from 8-9am in the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Augustine’s Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Francis’ memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children
