Gabriel L. Marrero

Gabriel Luis Marrero, 43 of Providence, RI, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022. He was an avid sports fan, fiercely promoting and defending his NY Mets, NY Giants and Miami Heat teams. Very dear to his heart was spending time with his families in both RI and NY.

Born in Providence, he was the cherished son of Angelo Luis Marrero of RI, Damiana Ortiz of NY, and stepson of Elaine Marrero of RI.

Besides his parents, he will be deeply missed by his paternal grandmother, Carmen Maldonado Garcia and maternal grandmother,  Seferina Tejada, and loving siblings, Lisa De La Cruz, Victor Martinez, Jocelyn Murta, Kevin Lynch and Brendan Marrero. Gabriel is also survived by his precious nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Mia, Eva, Ryden, Evyanna and Kamden and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was the grandson of the late Jorge Ortiz and Santiago Marrero.

Gabriel was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses faith.

His funeral and burial are private.
