Gary A. Kronsberg

October 22, 1953 ~ June 18, 2021 (age 67) 67 Years Old

Obituary

Gary A. Kronsberg, 67, of North Providence, passed away in his home peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 18, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Diane (O’Brien) Kronsberg with whom he would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 19th.

Born in Albany, NY., he was the son of the late Herbert E. Kronsberg and Gladys M. (Walker) Kronsberg.

Before retiring at the age of 65, Gary was a member of the Teamster Union Local 25 and he worked as a selector for Stop & Shop Supermarkets in Freetown, MA.

Gary’s love of music was unparalleled. In addition to being an accomplished guitarist and bassist, his vocal prowess was second to none. Combined with his uncanny ability to remember the most obscure lyrics to what seemed to be first-hand knowledge of every song and comedy album ever written, he brought joy to everyone that had the pleasure of sharing the stage with him and his presence always lit up the room. He loved spending hours in his music room listening to his lengthy list of favorite artists and songs. His musical journey started as a young boy playing in bands with his brother Herb and continued all through his life performing with friends, new and old, in groups as varied as church ministry to classic rock. His great sense of humor and musical comradery were cherished by all who knew him.

Besides his wife Diane, he is survived by his loving children, Alida Walusiak and her husband Christopher, Sarah Kronsberg, Christina Taglianetti and her husband Carl, Mary Agnes Kronsberg and her partner Terrance DeYoung, Martha Kronsberg, Gary F. Kronsberg and his wife Tayler, and Brian Kronsberg; his brothers, Herbert F. Kronsberg and his wife Judith, Brian A. Kronsberg and his wife Suzanne and his sisters, Nancy J. Davol and her husband Steven, Kathleen M. Jaglowski and her husband Adam and Margaret “Peggy” A. Logan and her husband Davis. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Sean, Austin, James, Benjamin, Audrey, Alexander, Kalem, Ethan, Desmond, Beatrix, Anna and soon to be dear grandson, Gary Thomas.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, June 23rd at 8:45am from the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Jude’s Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Burial will be private. Visitation is Tuesday 4-7pm.
