Obituary

DiMeo, Gerard Jr. 82, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2018, with his loving family by his side.  He was the husband of the late Rosella (Barber) DiMeo, they had been married for 61 years before her passing in 2017. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Gerard and Anna (DeCesare) DiMeo.

Mr. DiMeo served his country proudly in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict.  After being discharged he went to work as a driver for Brinks Armored Car Company for 23 years. He was a member of the D.A.V. Mount Pleasant Chapter 21, and Korean War Veterans Association, Northern Chapter.  He was a dedicated family man who enjoyed spending time with his loved ones.  He also enjoyed spending time by the ocean.  He especially loved spending time with his only grandson, instilling in him positive life lessons and values, and admired his successful career.  He loved to play and watch golf.

He was the father of Debra DiMeo – Levin and her husband Arthur, Jerry DiMeo III, and Denise DiMeo – Rodi.  He was the grandfather of Gerard William Rodi, and the brother of Agnes Siravo.

His funeral will be held on Saturday October 27, 2018 at 7:45 AM from the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St. Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence.  Calling hours will be held Friday 5 to 8 PM.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Riverside Cemetery, Pawtucket.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Korean War Veterans Association, 95 Orchard Meadows Dr. Smithfield, RI 02917.
