James E. Travis, 89 of North Providence passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 15, 2019. He was the beloved husband of the late Sylvia (Sacchetti) Travis. They were happily married for 57 years prior to her passing less than a year ago.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Macon and Elizabeth (Gray) Travis.
James was a proud Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War.
He is survived by a sister, Harriet Smith of California and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Paul Travis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will held on Saturday, November 23rd at 11am at the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
