Joan E. Regine (Dumont) 95, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at home. Shewas the beloved wife of the late Frank Regine and loving mother of the late Lewis Regine.
Joan was a stone setter at Carla Corporation for many years before retiring. Joan was one of the first female welders for the Walsh-Kaiser shipyards during WWII. She was also elected at the young age of 25 to become the president of the ITU local union. She loved her family, friends, going to the casino and gardening, as well as being an avid animal lover.
She is survived by her loving children, Christine Marfeo and Dean Regine and his companion Tiana; a cherished grandson, Michael Marfeo; a dear great-grandson, Lennox Regine and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late, Armand, Henry, Girard, Arthur, Roland, Emile and Theresa Dumont, Florence Palkovich, Anita DeMarzi, Lillian Geromini, Marie Ristaiano and Bertha Rochfort.
Visiting hours Wednesday, May 26 th from 10am-12pm followed by a Service at 12pm at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial will be private.
