John T. Caloura , 82, died Monday at home surrounded by his loving family. Husband to his beloved wife Anna (Sano) to whom he was married to for 59 years. Loving father to his two daughters, Rae Caloura and Kimberly Caloura.

He was the son of the late John P. Caloura and Genevive M. (Egan) Caloura of North Providence. Brother to the late Judith Tefft and late James Caloura.

John joined the service when he was 18 and traveled with the Navy. When John left the Navy, he was employed as an electrical engineer by Raytheon in Portsmouth, RI, at the Submarine Signal Division. During his career at Raytheon,

John traveled extensively and enjoyed sharing his travel adventures with friends and family. Upon retiring in 1999, John and his wife Anna loved to travel back and forth to Florida where they wintered in Barefoot Bay for nearly 20 years until 2016.

John was a member of Triggs Golf Course, where he was a division 3 club champion in 2009. He became a member of the “Hole in One” club at the Barefoot Bay Golf Course on hole 11 in 1993. John truly enjoyed the game of golf and made many friends during his ‘second career’ as a golf ranger at Swansea Country Club.

John had a love of football and the New England Patriots, which he shared with his daughter Rae. He also enjoyed seeing Star Wars movies with his daughter Kimberly and going to Foxwoods together.

VISITING HOURS will be held on Friday, January 14th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the A. A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, RI. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 100 Chatham Street, Providence, RI. Interment with military honors will be held at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery,1 Rhode Island Avenue, Johnston, RI . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org).  Face masks are required for anyone attending
