FORTE, JOHN D., 95, formerly of Admiral Street, Providence, RI died September 18th at Wingate of Weston, MA where he lived for the past seven years. He was the husband of the late MARY I. (Boffi) Forte. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Daniel and Mary (DiMuccio) Forte.
He was employed at Brown University for 38 years, first as a technical assistant in the Aerodynamics Research Laboratory and retiring in 1988 as an appointed staff member for the Engineering Dept. He later worked for Ramtel Corp of Johnston, RI as an Engineer & Designer of security telephones and columns. He made many new friends at Wingate and relished his role on the residents’ council. He loved his family, the Red Sox and Patriots, photography, bowling, and travel. Mr. Fixit, as we called him, was the life of family parties.
He leaves a son Daniel J. Forte and his wife Stella Robertson-Forte of Wayland, MA, a daughter Diane M. Forte of Santa Monica, CA, two sisters Gloria Farina and Evelyn Forsyth of RI and two granddaughters Kennis and Dasha Forte.
Calling hours on SATURDAY at 10 AM followed by Catholic services at 11 AM in the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street (at Branch Ave.), Providence. Burial will be in the St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
