My deepest condolences to the McNamara family and John's sister, Mary. I had not seen John in a long time, but have great memories of the days at the Ruffstone Tavern and playing for the Ruffstone team on Sunday mornings in the Johnston basketball league. John had a "big heart" and would do anything for you, if he liked you. If he didn't, stay out of his way! I was always glad to see him at Erin's basketball games when Erin played for LaSalle. We got to catch up on a lot of things. He was a good friend and a "great guy". One of the best!

My deepest sympathies to John's family. I met John as a kid right out of college entering the electrical industry and he was my first customer. He taught me so much about sales and the industry and how to hold my own in a male dominated industry. He was always incredibly helpful to me and I really looked up to him and am so grateful to have known him. He was so full of life and always had the time for you and you always knew where you stood with John. I haven't seen John for some time now but always kept him in my thoughts. I will miss him a lot

Dear Karen and family,

I was very saddened to learn of John's recent passing, and you have my deepest heartfelt sympathy.

Approximately 28 years ago, John was my first Sales Manager, as I entered the lighting business at Major Electric Supply Co. in Pawtucket. (Your brother, Dan, was also an outside salesman at Major Electric at that time.) It was a pleasure to both know and work for John. He was very helpful and knowledgeable, as I began my career in the lighting industry. He will always be warmly remembered.

With deepest sympathy,

Gabe Goglia

To John’s family and friends;

It is with deep sorrow that I received the news of John’s passing just yesterday from a couple of old Wesco friends. John was my best friend at Wesco even though we lived 3,000miles away from each other. However we found time at least a few times a year to get together and we talked at least once a week for the last 8 or 9 years before I retired. When I retired I promised him I would come to Rhode Island for a visit and he promised me he would come to California as well. Neither one of us lived up to that promise and now he is gone.

I will miss his exquisitely sarcastic sense of humor most of all. He never failed to make me laugh . Many times hysterically. I actually literally fell of my chair at dinner one night when we were in the South and the people in the restaurant were trying to convince John and I [ a couple of guys from the Northeast ] to eat fried Alligator tails. They said it tasted just like chicken. I don’t remember exactly what John said in response but I was in actual tears rolling on the floor and not caring if I ever got up. Then there was the story of the guy in the elevator at Wesco corporate. There was always a story with John and we always ended up laughing hysterically

He never failed to reach out to help anyone in need. He was always straight forward. He loved who he loved and didn’t who he didn’t. I am a better person for having known him.

I will miss him terribly.

John was amazing, fun, patient, & the sweetest boss/co-worker, he had the fastest wit of anyone I know! .He always called me at 6:00pm to see how my day went and ask me what I was making for dinner. I will miss those calls. The past few months, even though we no longer worked together, he still called to make sure I was doing ok, ask me if I needed anything...
He was my dear friend, always made me laugh!!!
Things will not be the same without Mac. My prayers to Johns family. Im so very sorry for your loss.

I am so very sorry for your loss. John was an absolutely terrific person and you always knew what that what he said is what he meant. He was a great person to work with and lift a drink with as well. I know I 'got a guy' in heaven now if I need anything! Blessings and peace to your family.

John was the most fun loving person I have come across. Just yesterday, I was talking about John with a common friend about his wonderful attitudes to life. I will remember one of his lines - Its good to be seen. May his soul find peace and may the family members have strength to bear this loss. He is in a better place. I bet he is making those around him smile and laugh as he did on this earth

As I sit here typing through my tears I am stunned. John was one of "MY" sales guys for over 20 years. I loved him dearly. He was my "rebel". His paperwork was always "in the car". He was funny and kind and just an all around good guy. He will be missed by all who knew him......R.I.P. old friend!

I was lucky enough to work with and become friends with John the last couple of years. He was always available for a chat and gave great advice on work and life in general. Johnny Mac was a mentor to me and he will be truly missed. He was one of a kind. My sincerest condolences to his family.

Our deepest condolences to the McNamara family and friends. We are very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you. The Holy Scriptures has a beautiful Psalm that reads: "Jehovah (The Lord) is close to the broken-hearted, he saves those who are crushed in spirit". and 1 Peter 5:7 which reads: "throw all your anxiety on him (God), because he cares for you". We hope that you can get comfort, peace of mind and comfort from God and his word, The Bible.
Sincerely, Maggie Catalano/www.jw.org
