Laura M. Jones

Laura M. Jones (Barron) 85, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.  She was the beloved wife of General G. Jones. They were happily married for 59 years.

Born in Atmore, Alabama, on May 1, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Emma (Montgomery) Barron.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving children, Doris Barron Shell and her husband Irvin David Shell, Gerald Jones, General G. Jones, Jr., Gina Marie Ortiz and her husband Anthony and Darlene Jones.  She is also survived by her sisters, Emma Jean Woods and Dorothy Barron; brothers, Winston (Sarah) Barron, Willie Frank (Ernestine) Barron and John Thomas Barron; 10 cherished grandchildren and many dear great-grandchildren.

Her funeral and burial will be private at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
