Legatha P. Wright (Madden) 73, of Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 25, 2021.
Born in Bridgeville, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Katherine (Fisher) Madden.
Legatha graduated from William C. Jason Class of 1964 and then studied at Delaware State University. She came to Providence in 1973 and worked many years at Miner Safety in Chepachet, RI until they shut down. She then worked for the City of Providence as a crossing guard until her passing.
She is survived by her loving children, Terrance Madden, Henry, Lucille, Sarita and Avery Wright; a sister, Katherine Mollock and a best friend, Bertha Cornell. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Michael, Devon, Shynita and JaNiece Wright, James Suber, Shaquille Watson, Tevin Smith, Christina Rand, Theresa Devalle, Annastasia Bellerice, Alicia Wright and Jaiqwan Bellerice, 9 dear great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Richard Madden, Yvonne McCray and Deanna Fisher and a best friend, Annie Hetu.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 4th from 11am-3pm at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial will be private.
