Leonora (Parente) Gilson

Leonora Gilson, 99, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10th, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Edward Gilson, Jr. and the late Lucas Adamo.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Rocco and Enrichetta (Antignano) Parente.  Mrs. Gilson was employed by Lang jewelry for many years.

She is survived by a son, James Adamo (Maryann); a step-daughter, Sharon Milleson (Larry); four grandchildren, James M. Adamo (Colleen), Jennifer M. Adamo (William Wertz), Robert Fisher (Andrea), and William Fisher (Jonathan); and six great-grandchildren, Scott, Thomas, Benjamin, Nicholas, Christina, and Gabrielle.  She was the sister of the late Ida Monforte, Margaret Accetta, Celia Ferrante, Anthony, Armand, Amedeo, Rocco, and Adolpho Parente.

Her family would like to extended gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Heritage Hills Nursing Center for their care and compassion shown over the last five years, especially; Donna, Sherri, and Rhonda.

Visiting hours will be at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, Tuesday, 9:30 am -10:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence.  Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heritage Hills Nursing Center Activity Fund, 80 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917.
