On Friday August 9th 2019, Leslie A. Anglin (Freddy), loving husband, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend passed away at age 70.
Freddy, as he was known, was born in Clarendon, Jamaica W.I. to Claudius and Gwendolyn (Thomas) Anglin. He worked for the Internal Revenue Service for more than twenty years. Politics, though, was his passion. Through his twenties and thirties, he worked on a number of local political campaigns in Brooklyn NY and Manhattan NY.
Freddy was known for his quick wit, his infectious laugh, and his love of people. On October 1, 1994, he married his beloved Lydia E. Paglio who predeceased him. He greatly missed “my Lydia.” They explored and enjoyed New York’s cultural vibrancy together. Freddy was never the same after her passing.
Freddy was preceded in death by his father, Claudius, and his mother Gwendolyn and a sister, Christine Barnett. He is survived by sister, Dr. Blossom Anglin-Brown MD, brother, Dr. Roland V. Anglin PhD and wife Dale. Nieces and nephews, Dr. Craig O. Brown PhD, Alexandria and Eric Sawyer, Lena Anglin, Micah Anglin and grand niece, Sophie. Surviving In-laws are Barbara E. Cameron and David W. Cameron, Sandia Park, NM and Victor Paglio Jr., Henderson, NV. Freddy also left many other family and friends who will not soon forget him.
A memorial service followed by interment will be held on Saturday, September 28th, 2019 at the A.A. Mariani Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street Providence, RI 02904 at 9:30 a.m.
