PROVIDENCE- Louis J. Turchetta, 101, of Providence, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020 at the Hope Hospice Center in Providence. He was the loving husband for 72 years to the late Marie C. (Cotoia) Turchetta, whom passed away on January 18, 2019.
Born on March 3, 1919, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Benedetto and Maria Turchetta.
A proud and patriotic man, Louis bravely served his country, as an infantryman in the US Army, during WWII.
For over 50 years, Louis was the owner and operator of his own painting business, “Custom Painting.” He was quite the hard worker, and he continued to paint into his 80s.
He was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Providence.
In his spare time, Louis enjoyed working around the house.
Louis was the proud father to his two sons, Dennis Turchetta and Donald Turchetta. He was a treasured grandfather to Derek Turchetta, Selena Turchetta, Jaymus Turchetta, and Tiffany Turchetta, and also the late Shayna Turchetta. He will be sorely missed by his siblings, Thomas Turchetta and Dorothy Ise. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
When restrictions due to COVID-19 are lessened, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Church, Providence
