Lucas A. Verardo, 33, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 26, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care after a brief illness.
Born in Bar Harbor, Maine, he was the beloved son of John T. Verardo and Laurie (Quirion) Cormier.
Lucas was a Units Secretary for Women & Infants Hospital for many years before becoming ill.
Lucas was a man of many and diverse accomplishments. He had a beautiful tenor voice which he used singing with the Cumberland-Lincoln Community Chorus and was an accomplished dancer with the Providence Swings dance community. He relished his role as a Mage participating in the Mystical Journeys role-playing and a student of Tai Chi. Above all he was a kind, gentle soul who is loved and will be missed by his family and large community of friends.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his loving brothers, John M. Verardo and his companion Korrine Olsen and Jacob S. Verardo and his wife Katherine. He is also survived by his devoted maternal grandmother, Natalie J. McCarty, his nephew, John Connor Verardo and many dear friends.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, April 6th from 4-7pm at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence.
