Lucille M. Capaldi

Capaldi, Lucille M. (Papa) 80, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2018 with her family by her side.  She was the wife of the late Guido Capaldi.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Catherine “Kitty” (DeRuosi) Papa. She was the step daughter of the late Louis Esposito.

She had volunteered at the St. Patrick Soup Kitchen for 14 years, she was an Associate Sister of Mercy.  She was a volunteer for Hospice.  She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church, and a member of the choir.  She loved to vacation and sit on the beach and just enjoy the sound of the ocean.  She also loved to sing, and play high low jack.

She is survived by her son, Anthony Medeiros and his wife Irene; daughters, Victoria Pagnozzi and her husband Paul, and Lisa Calkins.  She was the loving grandmother of  Melissa Perry, Jason Carbone, Amie Farias, Marsha Giroux, Andrea Correia, and Nicole Calkins, as well as 13 great grandchildren.  She was the sister of Cathy Whittaker and her husband Edmund Whittaker Jr.  She was the aunt to Edmund Whittaker III, and Michael Whittaker.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday November 6, 2018 at 8 AM from the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St. Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Agnes Church, 100 Chatham St. Providence.  Calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 8 to 9:30 AM.  Entombment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Agnes Church, 100 Chatham St. Providence, RI 02904.
