February 6, 1936 ~ March 3, 2022 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Obituary

Malcolm Abraham Badway of Providence passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 3, 2022.  He will be dearly missed by his devoted wife of fifty-four years, Joan (Abood) Badway and his four cherished daughters: Eva Marie Badway of Boston, MA, Christina (Ernest) Ramey of Belmont, MA, Lisa (Jason) Martiesian of Cranston, and Tara Badway of Jamestown. Malcolm is also survived by his five adoring grandchildren: Sophia Ramey, Grace Ramey, AJ Ramey, Sadie Martiesian, and Amelia Vayl.

Born February 6, 1936, to the late Abraham and Bedea (Hanna) Badway, Malcolm was a lifelong resident of Providence and a graduate of Central High School (1955), where he made treasured friends and created fond memories on the football field.  He served in the US Army before joining Dean Auto Body. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Malcolm pursued real estate development and relished his role at the Cedar Group and Potters Avenue Realty.

Malcolm embraced his Lebanese heritage and Maronite faith. He was a proud parishioner of St. George Maronite Catholic Church, where he and Joan received the prestigious Silver Massabki Award by the National Apostolate of Maronites (NAM). Malcolm took great pleasure in supporting his church with his time, talents, and treasure.

Malcolm delighted in opening his home to family and friends for all occasions, his personal favorite being Sunday dinner.

He is predeceased by his brothers, Elias Badway, Joseph Badway, and Raymond Badway.

Malcolm’s family appreciates the compassionate and skilled care of all his doctors and nurses, with a special thanks to the Miriam Hospital’s ICU staff.

His funeral will be 8:45 am Monday, March 7th from the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, 02904, followed by a divine liturgy at 10:00 am at St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 1493 Cranston Street, Cranston, 02920.  Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 6th from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Malcolm’s memory may be made to St. Raymond’s St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, 1240 North Main Street, Providence, 02904 or https://www.foodpantries.org/li/svdp_st_raymonds_church_02904. .
