CRANSTON- Maria D. Passarella, 82, of Cranston, passed away in the early morning hours, on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the devoted wife of the late Nicola A. Moscarelli, whom passed away on November 4, 1973. Maria later remarried and was the dear wife of the late Domenic Passarella, whom passed away on December 20, 2014.
Born in Italy on April 25, 1937, Maria was the dedicated daughter of the late Antonio and Isabella Ciolli.
Maria grew up in Italy and immigrated to America with her young family. She worked for many years in the jewelry industry.
In her spare time, Maria loved to cook delicious food and tend to her garden of vegetables and beautiful flowers. Above all, she was most happy when she was in the company of and making memories with her treasured family.
Maria is survived by her two cherished sons, Giuseppe “Joe” Moscarelli and his wife Pamela and Rocco Moscarelli and his wife Jennifer; her step-children, Frank Passarella and his wife Susan, Rosa Muccio and her husband Angelo, and Anthony Passarella; her 11 grandchildren, Nicole Moscarelli, Nicola Moscarelli and his wife Leandra, Joseph Moscarelli, Amanda Moscarelli, Christopher Moscarelli, Lisa Minassian and her husband Mark, Maria Voccio and her husband Christopher, Anthony Muccio and his wife Alessandra, Jennifer and Domenic Passarella, Jennifer and Gerry Casillas, and Denise and Ryan Desmarais; her 11 great-grandchildren; and also many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Maria’s funeral will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020, at 9 AM from A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Rocco’s Church, 927 Atwood Ave, Johnston, RI. Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston, where Maria will be laid to rest with her late husband, Nicola.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 1-4 PM in the funeral home.
