Maria ‘Rose’ Tarbox, 104, of North Providence, passed away Sunday March 5th. She was the beloved wife of the late George Tarbox.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Benedetto and Maddalena (Bucci) Passarelli.
Mrs. Tarbox was a devoted Catholic and she ran the Notre Dame Soup Kitchen for over 30 years, baking for two days to ensure she had enough food. She also enjoyed sewing and will be remembered for being a wonderful mother and aunt.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Debra Tarbox and sister of the late Jennie (Della Ventura) Ruggieri, Filomena Ranieri, James Passarelli, Joseph Passarelli, Nicholas Passarelli, Angelo Passarelli, and Benjamin Passarelli.
Visiting hours will be at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, Thursday March 9th, from 11:00 am - 12:00 noon, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon. Burial will be private. The family kindly requests to omit flowers.
