Mary Ann Solomon

Mary Ann (Shaheen) Solomon, 77, of Providence, died in early morning hours of August 21 with her husband and children beside her.

Mary Ann was born in Easton, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Jeanette (Jabbour) Shaheen. She was educated in Easton schools.

In 1965, her life changed forever when she married Donald Solomon, Sr. and re-located to Providence, RI. Further changing her life, she gave birth to her children Donald Jr. and Cheryl Solomon, both of Providence.

Mary Ann was the sister of Peter Shaheen, of Easton, PA and the late Barbara Kassis. 

Mary Ann leaves behind numerous friends and relatives in the USA, Lebanon, and Australia who will miss her dearly. She also joins many who predeceased her in her journey to Heaven.

Mary Ann was beloved by all her knew her. Those who were lucky enough to have received the benefits of her baking, especially her famous chocolate cake, will carry those memories forever.

Mary Ann moved to Providence but her heart always had a home in Easton, PA and she professed her love of all things “Easton” until her dying day.

Her funeral will be 8:45 am Wednesday, August 25th from the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at  St. George Maronite Catholic Church, Cranston.  Visiting hours are Tuesday, 4- 7 pm. Face masks are required at all services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 1493 Cranston Street, Cranston, RI 02920.
