Nely Santana Lopez

Nely Santana Lopez, 65 years old, passed away peacefully in Providence surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 1:30 pm on her birthday. She was the beloved wife of Ramon Lopez. They were happily married for 40 years. She was born on  March 11, 1958 in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic; she was the daughter of the late Agustin and Cristina Martes Santana. 

Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving children, Marcia Santana, Luis Ricardo Santana, Yanet Garcia, Maria Garcia, Romona Lopez and Erick Lopez; and devoted siblings, Melania Santana, Miguel (Yuyi) Santana, Roberto Santana, Maribel Santana and Francis Santana. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Ricary, Camila, Cristiano, Christian and Sophia. She brought to her life 3 step-children, when she married her husband, Dania, Melanea and German López plus 4 step-grandkids, who truly loved her, Franklin Samuel and Danny Noesis, Mya and Nyalee Vallejo. 

She used to be a giving human  being, loving caring and a woman of faith.  Always helping those in need, especially people from her community back in the Dominican Republic. She was a friendly loving person, who used to easily  make friends everywhere she went. Her neighbors became family to her. She didn't know how to cook small amounts of food. Everyone was welcome to come to her house and food was never a problem. Her biggest dream was to move back to DR and enjoy that beautiful weather. Nely is no longer with us physically, but will live in our hearts forever. We love you mami Nely.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 17th from 10am-12pm in the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence.

Nely Santana López, de 65 años de edad, falleció en Providence,  en paz rodeada de su linda familia el Sábado 11 de Marzo del 2023 a la 1:30 pm en su cumpleaños. Era la amada esposa del señor Ramon López. Estuvieron felizmente casados por 40 años. Nació en Boca Chica, Republica Dominicana. Era la segunda hija de 7 hijos. Sus difuntos padres fueron Agustin y Cristina  Martes Santana. Ella no solo deja a su esposo, también deja a 6 hijos; Marcia Santana, Luis Ricardo Santana, Yanet Garcia, Maria Garcia, Romona and Erick López; y 5 hermanos, Melania Santana, Miguel (Yuyi) Santana, Roberto Santana, Maribel Santana y Francis Santana. Deja 4 nietos; Ricary, Camila, Cristiano, Christian y Sophia. A su vida se agregaron 3 hijastros; Dania, Melanea y German López, y 4 nietos Franklin Samuel, Danny, Mya y Nyalee. 

 Ella fue un ser humano que disfrutaba dar. Nely era una mujer dedicada a ayudar a los menos afortunados en especial aquellos en su comunidad en su querida "Boca chica". Era super amistosa, cariñosa, atenta y sobre todo una mujer de fe. Trataba a sus vecinos como parte de su familia. Ella no sabía cocinar para pocas personas, le gustaba tener su casa siempre llena de gente y la comida nunca fue un problema. Todos eran más que bienvenidos a su hogar. Su sueño era mudarse otra vez a su hermosa tierra DR, para disfrutar de ese cálido clima y de su gente del barrio. A pesar de que ella ya no está físicamente vivirá eternamente en nuestros corazones. Te amamos mami Nely.

Gracias a Yeya una persona que siempre estuvo ahí con ella en todo tiempo, convirtiéndo en una más de sus hijas. Ella vivía en Boca Chica y hace un tiempito vive con ellos en casa de Nely. se conocen de toda la vida.

Gracias Finin su pastora y sobrina. Nely se congregaba en su congregación y ha sido la persona que le ha servido como guia espiritual.
