Norma B. Coia ((Lazzareschi) Salisbury) 82, of Smithfield passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 26, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Coia and loving mother of the late Raymond Salisbury.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Caesar “Jack” and Mary (Carello) Lazzareschi.
Norma, an avid Patriots fan and graduate of Mount Pleasant High School worked in the restaurant industry for most of her life before her retirement from McKenzie & Associates as a demonstrator.
She is survived by her devoted children, Debra Yerger of Smithfield, Judy Grande of Cranston, Mark J. Salisbury Sr. and his wife Kathleen of Warwick; a son-in-law, John Grande and a dear sister Margaret “Peggy” Denellio. She was a loving Grandma to Larry Cunningham, Mark John Salisbury Jr., Andrew Raymond Salisbury, John Raymond Grande, Matthew Albert Grande, Rae-Ann Salisbury and Madison Rose Cotnoir. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was the beloved sister of the late Viola Smith.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:45am from the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be Tuesday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to www.autism-society.org.
