Pasquale Almonte, Jr., 91, of Smithfield, passed away Sunday May 28th, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Josephine (Rainone) Almonte.
Born in Providence, he was one of 10 children of the late Pasquale and Francesca (DiCenzo) Almonte.
He was an avid Ballroom dancer, enjoyed playing golf and cards. Mr. Almonte was a Korean Conflict Era Army Veteran. He will be remembered for his generosity, helping to support numerous charities’ during his life.
He is survived by five children, Sharon DiBiasio (Michael), Doreen Caverio (Albert), Laurie Almonte, Richard Almonte (Krina), and Gina Carruolo (Mark); ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Elaine Venditelli and Loretta Venditelli; and a brother, Edward Almonte.
Visiting hours will be Thursday June 1st at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm at St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave, Norwood, MA 02062.
