Ralph T. Salvatore, 83, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 21st. He was the beloved husband of Natalie (Viccione) Salvatore for 60 years.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Theodore and Anna (Fanelli) Salvatore.
Mr. Salvatore was a Housing Inspector for the City of Providence for over 30 years and a proud member of LIUNA Local 1033. He also worked as a security officer at Providence College, for 20 years where he left a memorable impact with students, parents, staff, and faculty alike. Ralph was a long-time member of the Providence Democratic City Committee, concluding his tenure as Chairman of the Fourteenth Ward Committee in 2010. He enjoyed being active in his community, fostering genuine relationships with everyone he encountered, and had a love of life that was contagious. What Ralph loved most of all though, was spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife Natalie, he is survived by his three cherished sons, Ralph Salvatore of North Kingstown, Providence City Councilor David Salvatore and his wife Angie of Providence, and Michael Salvatore and his wife Sherie of Providence. He also leaves behind six adored grandchildren, Emilia, Giuliana, Melania, Stassi, Alessia, and Bennett. He was predeceased by his devoted sister, Regina Palumbo.
The funeral will be 8:45 am Monday from the A.A.Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Sunday, 4:00-7:00 pm. Masks will be required for anyone attending services at the funeral home.
