Raymond “Ramón” Eugenio Anglón, 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 with his beloved family by his side.
Ramón was born November 9, 1951, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to Leopoldo Anglón and Hilda Sophia Canela Nuñez. He immigrated to the United States in 1972 where he spent the majority of his life in New York with shorter residencies in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.
Ramón's strong work ethic fueled his forty-year-long career as a member of the Pointers, Cleaners, Caulkers Restoration Specialists Local 1 Union. During this time, he also navigated the streets of New York City as a taxi driver and professional chauffeur.
Ramón was a devout Catholic who loved celebrating life through the food, music, dance, and sport of his native country. He was a stylish gentleman, a natural pelotero, a merenguero hasta la tambora.
Ramón is survived by his loving children, Erika Jacqueline Anglón, Gloria Casilda (Cindy) Anglón, Elvis Jordan Anglón, and Ruthie Lorianne Anglón, from his first wife, the late Gloria Reynoso Anglón; his cherished grandchildren, Jazenia Anglón, Janizyah Anglón, Jah’zir Watts, Natalia Oliver, and Jah’zavier Watts; his devoted siblings, Venecia Brunilda Bisono, Gloria Libertad Bisono, and Polivio Alberto Cabrera. He will also be fondly remembered by his former spouses, step-children, God-children, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, as well as his beloved German Shepard, Monchy.
Ramón is preceded in death by his late brothers, Alberto Brunette Bisono and Nelsido Antonio Cabrera.
The Anglón family owes a great debt of gratitude to the staff of HopeHealth Hospice who supported Ramón and his family over the past year.
Visiting hours will be at the A.A. Mariani and Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence on Thursday, November 18th, from 10:30 am - 11:45 am EST, followed by family remarks beginning at 11:45 am. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. both services will be live-streamed and the link will be available shortly.
A gathering for family an friends will be held Thursday, November 18. 2021/ Jueves, 18 de noviembre de 2021, 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM EST Julianna's Restaurant, 189 Pocasset Ave, Providence, RI 02909.
The Inurnment will be held in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence, on Friday, November 19th, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST. Relatives and friends attending the services will be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
