Obituary

Raymond R. Cloutier, 86, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, November 2nd, after a brief illness.  He was the beloved husband of Jeanne (Battista) Cloutier for 60 years. 

Born in Marlboro, MA, he was the son of the late Raymond and Eva (Menasian) Cloutier.

Mr. Cloutier served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  During his time in the Army, he developed an interest in aviation.  After serving his Country, Raymond dedicated more than 50 years to the aviation industry.  He was employed by Plymouth Copters, Plymouth, MA for 27 years as lead helicopter mechanic.  He continued his career as an airworthiness inspector for The Federal Aviation Administration, S. Portland, ME until his retirement.  During his distinguished career, Raymond was awarded numerous citations and awards, including The Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his four children, Rae-Marie Elsner, Carol Sorensen, Patricia Reed and her husband Jeffrey Reed, and Robert Cloutier; six grandchildren, Michael and his wife Ashley, Matthew and his companion Alyssa, Derek and his companion Aimee, Caitlyn, Jeffrey Jr., and Christian; a great-granddaughter, Natalia Rae, and 2 great-grandchildren due in 2022; a brother-in-law, Carl Battista Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.  He also leaves behind his beloved chihuahua, Chica Maria.

Ray was a master of all trades and always right there, Craftsman tool box in hand, to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Visiting hours will be held at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, Monday, from 9:00 am - 10:30 am.  Relatives and friends attending will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence.  Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Ann Church Memorial Fund, 2 Russo Street, Providence, RI 02904.
