Raymond M. Hammond, 52 of Smithfield formerly of Houston, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.  Raymond was the son of the late Bruce W. Hammond and the late Barbara (Corsi) Petrucci and her husband Edward Petrucci of Johnston.  Raymond leaves his longtime partner Dane Usher.  Before his illness, Raymond had worked for American Airlines as a flight attendant.  He also held positions of reservationist, crew scheduler and others within the airline industry.  Ray was a loving and caring person and very outspoken.  He enjoyed his music and loved to DJ in his spare time.  He loved to cook and entertain for his family and friends.  Besides his partner Dane and step-father Ed, he is survived by his sister Brenda L. (Hammond) Rooney, her husband, Christopher, and their children Erika Marie and Christopher Jr.; his brother Michael E. Petrucci and longtime girlfriend Brenda and his son Perry; a step-sister Carla Tartaglia and her three daughters and a step-brother Edward C. Petrucci Jr. and his two sons.  Also, many cousins, in particular Ronda (Rossi) Longo with whom he lived with during his final weeks.  There will be no calling hours and the funeral will be private.
