Obituary

Richard Vincent Battista, 79, of Johnston, passed away Tuesday February 6th. He was the beloved husband of Yolanda (Ramos) Battista for 36 years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Vincent and Domenica “Minnie” (DiDonato) Battista and the brother of the late Joyce Ann Tesseris.

A proud member of the Phi Sigma Nu Fraternity, while attending school, he graduated Bryant College in 1965. Upon graduation, he worked at the Providence Washington Life Insurance Company, but ultimately transitioned to running his own business, Beneficial Energy Products in Pawtucket. An adult adopter of the game of golf, he was a long-time member of Pawtucket Country Club and later Metacomet Country Club before its closing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Vincent, Alexander, and Benjamin Battista.

SERVICES CHANGED:

Visiting hours will be at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, Thursday February 15th, 8:30 am -10:15 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow 11:00 am at St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lifespan Cancer Institute, Development Office, PO Box H, Providence, RI 02901.
