Rita M. Guido

Guido, Rita M. (DeMatteo/Massaro) 95 of Lakeland, Florida passed away peacefully on June 15, 2021. Beloved mother of Paul F. Massaro and his wife Marilyn of Shelby Twp, Michigan and Smithfield Fire Department Lt. Peter G. Massaro, Ret. and his wife Marie of Auburndale, Florida; stepmother to Rev. Joseph J. Guido of Providence and John A. Guido of West Warwick. She leaves behind seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Rita was in sales for Gladdings, The Shephard Co, Cherry & Webb and a Sales Representative for Elizabeth Arden and Revlon New York. She later became a cosmetics buyer for the Outlet Co. and Peerless Co. in Providence. Mrs. Guido began her own business as Owner and Operator of Rita Masse Ltd. on Hope Street in Providence, RI. before retirement. She was a fan and followed the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriot faithfully. Rita’s favorite travel destination was Bermuda and loved sailing on various cruise ships.

Her funeral will be held Friday, June 25th at 9am from the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St., Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Pius V Church, 240 Eaton St., Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Thursday, June 24th from 4-8pm.
