Roger A. Iannetta Sr.
January 15, 1940 ~ May 17, 2023 (age 83) 83 Years Old
Roger A. Iannetta, Sr., 83, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, May 17th. He was the beloved husband of Annmarie (Savone) Iannetta for 59 years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Vincent Iannetta and Concetta (Stramondo) Casino.
Mr. Iannetta was employed at The Claflin Company for many years.
He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, the NY Giants, and PC Friars basketball. He loved playing cards, enjoyed watching Westerns, and was a fan of John Wayne.
He served honorably in the United States Air Force, being stationed in Europe, during the Vietnam War. He was an avid hiker and enjoyed spending time on the Appalachian Trail in the White Mountains or in Lincoln Woods. He was a long-distance track star in high school and a catcher for a fast pitch softball team in the US Air Force.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Roger Iannetta, Jr. and Michael Iannetta; a grandson, Aidan M. Iannetta; two brothers, Raymond Iannetta and Vincent Iannetta; and a sister, Teresa Iannetta.
Visiting hours will be Monday May 22nd at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, from 8:30 am – 10:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Entombment with military honors will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
