Rose Iovini

Rose Iovini (Sghelli) 93, a lifelong resident of Providence, passed away Sunday, September 19th, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Iovini.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Rudolph and Consiglia (DeLuca) Sghelli.

Mrs. Iovini was employed by Shepard’s Department Store and Motherhood Maternity Store.  She was a Foster Grandparent and volunteered at Women & Infants Hospital.

She is survived by her loving children, Andrea Welford and her husband Stephen of New Hampshire, Joseph R. Iovini and his wife Beverly of Bristol and Jennifer Simonelli and her husband Kenneth of North Providence. She is also survived by her 3 cherished grandchildren and 8 dear great-grandchildren.  She was the sister of the late Rudolph Sghelli and Anna Angeli.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, September 23rd from 9-10:30am in the A.A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Avenue, RI North Providence 02904.  Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
