Shereef Olapitan Ahmed

March 28, 1982 ~ July 19, 2020 (age 38) 38 Years Old

Obituary

SHERMAN OAKS, CALIFORNIA- Shereef Olapitan Ahmed, 38, of Sherman Oaks, CA and formerly of Providence, RI passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020.

Born March 28, 1982, in Providence, RI., Shereef was the devoted son to Akim Ahmed and Titilayo Ominu-Akindolie and her husband Rotimi Akindolie.

Raised in Providence, Shereef was a product of the Providence Public School System and a proud member of Classical High School’s graduating class of 2000. A hardworking and studious individual, Shereef furthered his education by attending and graduating from Providence College with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with honors.

Shereef combined his great work ethic with an entrepreneurial spirit; always alert and often exploring new business ventures. Most notably, Shereef led with heart, never afraid to launch out into the deep to realize his dreams while helping those around him accomplish theirs. He had a great way with people; his endearing smile and contagious laugh was a consistent treasure to everyone around him. Professionally, this trait made for some of his most noteworthy moments; whether posing with a celebrity client or receiving one of his many awards within the automotive sales industry, it was his heart many would say truly set him apart.

In his spare time, Shereef enjoyed playing basketball, working out to stay in shape, music, and photography. As a matter of fact, Shereef loved music. In addition to playing various instruments, Shereef was constantly found busy making memories with family and friends alike. Those closest to him learned to quickly expect his one of a kind voicemails or social media messages where he shared his playful movie “tag line” quotes or musical lyrics. However he decided to make the memory, Shereef’s intent was always the same; to bring life to every room, a smile to every face, and comfort to every heart. He was a blessing to have these 38 short years. Due to heart failure the morning of Sunday, July 19th, Shereef transitioned from life to eternity; a brother to many, protector to those he loved, a promoter of dreams and a friend to all. He was a proud dog parent to his treasured Boston Terrier "Buddy". Shereef’s legacy continues to live through all the lives he has touched.

In addition to his parents and stepfather, Shereef is survived by his adored siblings, Mariamah Williams and her husband Saddi, Mojisola Akindolie, Isaiah Akindolie, Elizabeth Akindolie, Joshua Akindolie, and Elijah Akindolie; his treasured niece, Amoura Williams; and also many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
